I ordered a few masks on Etsy. Floral prints and mini strawberry patterns. I tried them on and looked at myself in the mirror. “Can you tell I’m making a dumb face?” I asked my husband.
“Not really,” he said. “Your eyes, though.”
No one will be able to read the expression on my face. No one will know if I’m smiling or not. And that’s truly a benefit. Preventing the spread of germs AND obscuring my visage from the world? That's a win-win.
