Calathea

We contemplated purchasing a beautiful Calathea plant at the nursery the other day. We thought and thought about it. But we decided not to bring it home. Why?

Because we have a cactus at home, that we haven’t watered in years. We’re not sure if it’s alive. It’s the same color it’s always been. If we can’t keep a cactus alive, I don’t think we have hope for nourishing a Calathea plant.

Which leads us to the question.. is our cactus even alive? And if it is, how is that even possible? We’ve literally left it alone for so long. If it is alive, then that’s a strong ass cactus.

I’d love to fill our home with plants galore, but I’m not ready for the commitment. I don't want to be responsible for the death of a (nother?) plant. I'm not really an adult, I'm only 32 years old. And my thumbs are brown.
